Praying For Paris

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” – John 10:10

I was horrified to hear on the news that Paris had been the victim of a terrorist attack. My first thought was, Isis. This world is so full of evil, and corruptness. Not to say that there isn’t any good in the world, but it’s so evident every time I turn on the news what we are dealing with.  A lot of people want to blame God, because He isn’t evidently stepping in. But what do you expect when we live in a world where we have shut God out of everything? We have shut him out of our lives, our schools, and most importantly our hearts. We have basically put a hand up to God and said, No! We want freewill, and that is dangerous in itself. It’s been the problem from the beginning of time, when Adam and Eve made a choice. The problematic thing, is that God has chosen to give us the freewill we desire, and this is now the world we live in.  A world without God.

“And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” – John 3:19

God wants us to choose him freely without force, and invite Him into our lives so that He can show us a better way.   He is the way the truth and the life.  (John 14:6) He is often the last one we turn to when things get rough, and the first one we point blame on. God is not evil….God is a God of love. (1 John 4:8) He is a God of light, and in Him there is no darkness. (1 John 1:5) Light is the only thing that can conquer darkness, so we need to be children of the light (1 Thessalonians 5:5) Let’s pray for Paris, and against the evil that causes fear in the hearts of the people.

Jesus died on the cross so that we might have life to the fullest. (John 3:16) Not to live in fear. The spirit of fear is from the enemy, not God. (2 Timothy 1:7) There is no fear in Love but perfect love casteth out fear. (1 John 4:18) God loved us from the beginning, and He still loves us.

We are called to be peacemakers. (Matthew 5:9) So I will stand with God and pray for a light to be shone upon the darkness that has tried to destroy Paris. I pray that God charge his angels to encamp about around France, so the people can stand strong in the face of evil, and move forward in victory.

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33
