The Wonder Years

Fall Pic For Blog

“God gives us fresh mercy each morning – enough to get through one day at a time.”  – Sheila Walsh

His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:23) As the leaves fall and the seasons change, we simply need to be still and know that he is God.  Sometimes it’s hard to live in the moment, when were always planning ahead.  We forget to stop and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us, and soak in the moments that make up life.  We are never promised a tomorrow, so we simply need to live for the day and cherish it.

“Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.”  – Proverbs 27:1

Though the seasons change, and we change as life goes on, God never changes.  He is the author of each story, and he knows the beginning and the end for us.   We simply need to rest in his hands, and watch as he turns each page.  What God has planned sometimes isn’t what we imagine; it is always better than we can imagine.

“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. ” – Ephesians 3:20

Sometimes you just have to take it one day at a time.  If you try to skip from A-Z you can miss some pretty important and beautiful moments in between.  Any good story has plots, twists and turns.  If you picked up a book and simply turned to the back page, where would be the fun in that?  You are the leading lady/gentleman in your story, and God has a great vision for you life.  Be inspired, and dream big!  The thing with dreams, is that we need to grow into them sometimes.  If God has given you a desire in your heart, you can be sure that he’s preparing you for that very thing.

“Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you your heart’s desires.” – Psalm 37:4

I grew up watching the wonder years.  It was a great show about a boy named Kevin, going through the typical rites of passage growing from a boy to a man.  I’m sure many times he wanted to simply grow up, and claim the girl of his dreams – Winnie.  But life is not always what it seems.   The things we believe we need to be successful aren’t always so; however, God doesn’t waste anything.  There is a reason for it all.  When you look back over the years, you will cherish what God has brought you through.

“Things never turn out exactly the way you planned. I know they didn’t with me. Still, like my father used to say, ‘Traffic’s traffic, you go where life takes you’ and growing up happens in a heartbeat. One day you’re in diapers, the next you’re gone, but the memories of childhood stay with you for the long haul.  – Kevin Arnold

“Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.” – Lamentations 3:23

If you had a bad day today, then say a prayer, and rest.  Tomorrow is a new day.  With God in it, you can be sure it’s going to be good!  Weeping only lasts for a night, but joy comes in the morning.  (Psalm 30:5)

Let’s enjoy our, “wonder years,”  and enjoy each step of the journey.  God Bless~!

“Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.” – Ecclesiastes 3:11
